Am I too young for a skin care routine?
It’s never too early (or too late!) to start a skin care routine. A good skin care regimen is as important as brushing your teeth, keeping up good hygiene, and maintaining a healthy diet!
While you may not be concerned about them now, skin issues like adult acne, age spots and fine lines caused by sun damage, and dry, dehydrated skin can start as early as your 20s. The more you take care of your skin now, the easier it will be to maintain healthy skin now and into your future.

Why do I need SPF?
Skin is the ultimate record keeper: every moment of sunlight exposure adds up like money in the bank! But the payoff is less desirable….
Statistics show that one in six individuals will develop skin cancer, and 90% of these cancers are the direct result of UV light radiation from the sun. A severe sunburn before the age of 18 exponentially increases your skin cancer risk.
If that isn’t enough of a reason, think of it this way: remember the last time you saw someone with really wrinkly, spotted skin? That is the result of years of skin exposure to UV light without protection. If you want to look your best in the future, it’s time to start wearing SPF now.
UVA rays are responsible for skin damage that leads to skin aging, and are recognised as the primary cause of skin cancer. When skin tans or burns, UVB rays are responsible. This is why SPF that shields against UVA and UVB is so important.

How does SPF work?
The Sun Protection Factor (SPF) represents the ability of a product to delay sun-induced burning or erythema.
There are two forms of sunscreens: physical and chemical. Physical sunscreens such as Titanium Dioxide (technologically-advanced, ultra-fine porcelain particles) work to reflect and scatter the sun’s rays, and chemical sunscreens such as Octinoxate, Octisalate, and Oxybenzone (to name a few) absorb the sun’s rays and convert them into less harmful heat energy. |
